A village of Churchville outing

June 27, 2025

It was a sunny afternoon in late June and I went to Sunny Gardens Chinese Restaurant in Churchville for lunch. I believe it is mostly a take out restaurant because they only have three tables. I ordered the Moo Shu Pork at the counter and the cashier told me that it would take ten minutes. I spent these ten minutes next store at the Black Creek Primitives and Antiques.

I browsed throughout the store and quickly found something that I wanted to buy, but I continued to walk around in case I found something better. I was looking for a centerpiece for my coffee table. I decided on what I first saw which was an intricate painted little box. At the counter, I paid for the box and asked the cashier how long they have been open. She said they have been open for six months.

Back at the Chinese restaurant, I sat at one of the tables and mixed my pork with the rice. A thin rolled up pancake came with my order and the cashier came to my table and explained to me how to eat it. While she was explaining, I struggled awkwardly trying to get the plastic off of the pancake. I rolled my food in the pancake and tried it that way, but I thought it was too chewy.

For dessert, I went around the corner to Spoonful of Sugar and ordered a raspberry sorbet. It was lively in this bakery as I ate my ice cream. Overall, I had a very nice time in the small village of Churchville.
