I watched two people trip and fall, I listened to sound check at the main stage, and I ate one of the best hot dogs I ever had. I was getting the full experience at the Lilac Festival on a Monday morning.
When I went to the help desk, another attendee asked where to find Lilac ice cream, but the help desk person said they never heard of that. And when I went down to the booths that were selling stuff, I saw a woman who is a waitress at a restaurant I go to. Out of all the faces that were at the festival, she was the only familiar one.
My leg hurt a little bit, so I didn’t do a lot of walking. At one point, I sat for a while at a table where I had my hot dog and watched all the people pass by. I was surrounded by food stands and fun things to do like getting your portrait drawn. By the way: don’t go down South Avenue to look for parking. You won’t be successful.
The sun was out on this day and it was warm. I had my flannel shirt wrapped around my waist. At one point, I took a picture of a sign that said Gate 5 and the security guard said I wasn’t the first person to do that. Overall, it was a nice time at the festival.
